So it goes. Yes, it is always few words of no sense at all at the beginning of such news. Anybody can guess how hard it can be, to hold an amateur development group, a group of people who have never done anything like this before and somehow still can't find enough motivation to do so. There is a massive amount of hard steps to make to start anything, to create at least a simple first 'progress bar line'. Now i sound a bit too 'gospel-channel'...

End of this bullshit.. sorry. Now i'll get to the point. The project is up again. The 'Gravity Wheels' and all its advantages are still up to date and we are very encouraged to continue our job with trippled passion and motivation. We are realistic, we know what steps to take first, we educate ourselves and we find our lack of knowledge. But now we stand hard to achieve our goals, and we won't stop. The OGDev team is alive again... here we go ppl ;}
10.10.2005 ´ 2 years behind us by Horniasty ' OGDev
Here comes the moment when two years of hard work (phi ;p) has passed away. And even if this small comment in the sentence above means really much (more details later) I'm still very proud of what we certainly achieved during this time, and especially in the last few months. There isn't really much to show, there isn't really much to write about, to present some progress that could be visible, but, there is a huge progress in what we can call a "realism of goals" we have discussed some time back in time. The thing is that we really know what to do, quite much how to do it, and we have already turned back in the development process to the very beginning to make all the things straight from the origin. It means that we have started again, but this time we have started by making a design document, so writing down  a l l  the details of the project. Creating a document which allows us to follow the instructions and ideas we already discussed together and to make it all connected with the main concept of the game.

This means, that it really isn't enough to have all these things in our minds and memory, to have all the great and exciting ideas of how it will look and how big will be the fun speeding on our favourite Downhill bikes down the trails. The main thing we have to do is to come back on earth and to create a detailed plan of what we've got to do in order to make these all sweet things come true.

I know that when we talk about two years of developing we don't really mean an active developer time. We all have schools, now we all have our girlfriends ;) (greetz to all of them here and now ;)) and we have tons of other things we just have to do and which are much more important than the Dev team. We're still not professional company in which people just normally earn money and treat it like a normal full-time job, and i really don't think it will change in the upcomming time.

So we have to get some free time whenever we can, when it's possible and get ourselves to work. By the time of releasing the official version of Design Document, containing the Functional and Technical specifications we start giving ourself concrete goals and particular work to be done. There will be a fully detailed list of the art pieces to be done and of course the whole description of the graphic/physics engine, which will be prepared to be coded.

I wish you all the best, team. I think we're gonna get with these all things "on the road" soon and it will be the time next year to really show what we've done and maybe present some serious updates.

A short word in the and for all of you who ever read these pages. I don't think if there is any big group of our fans but i think it's a matter of time and work done. But anyway, thanks for support :)
12.06.2005 ´ New frame model by Horniasty ' OGDev
Well, i would like to introduce a new model which i'm working on now. The only thing i can show now is a simple in-work screen of the frame. It's a Chaka CMP Super Moto. A full-suspension full downhill / extreme freeride frame, made by Germans. 250 mm of rear travel, great durability, really nice stuff. In fact, i would really like to have one ;} truly. We'll see... for now the only thing i can do is to finish the frame and set it on some nice fork, good wheels and other components.

08.06.2005 ´ wake up! by Horniasty ' OGDev
Wow... it's really sad to say that there's been a half a year since last update here. It's not good. It just practically and purely  s u x. But... we are now during the future planning time. The future we're planning now are the upcomming summer holidays. We're planning very specific development in our works. Planning every step we'll take to improve the progress. Any later updates will appear here soon after planning them.

25.12.2004 ´ 'coo-weekend' #2 by Horniasty ' OGDev
Yeah, it's been quite long time since last update... i know there is nothing worse than long breaks, but do not worry, we haven't gave up. We don't want to make some people angry, or upset ;]... or just disappointed, but... yes BUT, we have to annouce some project changes... maybe even big changes in it. I know there is a matter of starting something, and not finishing it, i know it's not good, but i also know what means 'the first project'. It's very ambitious to aim high, and to try create a game of 'WoW' level... during the first project. There were some people, who tried to tell me, that i was not able to create that kind of project, to finish it. Greetz to Sil2100, he was one of them, but in kind of positively way. But now, i see, he was right, so f***in right ;} But do not worry... we're going to run a project, which u can suspect of being on the same level of difficulty. But in real it's not. It really needs less job, to make it run, to make a game out of it.
The title is 'coordinate-weekend' so where is the meeting info? Well, here it is ;} we are meeting now, during Xmass time, in Poland. Meeting will finish about 30th Dec. There will be info here about it all. About all the changes, about this new project. Almost all of the information has been gathered. It will be posted on the site soon, very soon.
Hope you are all not disappointed, not angry at us... you will understand us, when the project will be described.

02.11.2004 ´ 'coo-weekend' ends by Horniasty ' OGDev
We had really enough time to make main decisions. The meeting had very important meaning. The all-over shape of our project had needed to be described, so here it is.
Our General Goal for coming days and 'till end of the year is to make working engine, with really minimalistic functions. No candys, no fluffy effects yet. Just to make it work as an OpenGL application, to be able to use some 3d environment there, a piece of it and to watch it in the game; to be able to walk there, to find out if we're on the good way.
Other 'till-end-of-year' targets are: to build beta main character look [i mean, the base look of the man kind] with it's animation. Other thing is a detailed piece of first city. Something what could be used normally in game, but just a small piece of finished level.
Other great job which is planned to do is to describe all characteristics of in-game world concept [i know it is based on medieval reality, but it needs to be wrote down, to be precisely specified].
It's time for real work and i don't want us to waste it, so I decided to divide the work with time limits. I'm not so cruel to punish anybody for not abiding by them, they're not deadlines! I just want us to work more responsibly. There are just three of us, we have to manage it all somehow.
19.10.2004 ´ Coordinate meeting by Horniasty ' OGDev
Next week Saturday (30.10) is already planned as a coordinate meeting. We will meet 'physically' , so no hitting the keyboard to talk this time. It's really hard to plan anything just via internet. We will discuss all over the actual sub-projects and goals, and create future plans for comming work. The matter of a fable will be also come in question. We haven't been precisely talking about it yet. After all i will write something about these plans and decisions.

[qv] project is getting shape. We're now designing main cities. I can tell now something about were the action of game will be placed in, and of course when [because it's historical based project]. It's central Europe, XII century. Mainly in Roman Empire. There will be also countries like: Poland, Hungary, France, England, Scotland and Wales. We're also already designin main look of human characters. Some 'map pictures' will be available in download section.

We have gained new member. He has been friend of mine for kinda long time now. I've just shown him our new site, and told about new project. He decided to take the coder place. His job will also be the 3d models. Did u noticed that we are all 3d graphics ? :P wierd, huh ? heh.. but we still lack of coders.

Our team has made many changes. We decided to begin a project that will show us how we can exist as a team. New work will be defined very soon in 'projects' on this site. It will take some time to finish scenario outline. The second thing that i thought would be good to do is real Dev site.
